Chalet Host
Powder White has just completed an 8th successful season and is starting already to make preparations for winter 20011/12. Due to the planned new programme launch, we are looking for capable and hard working Chalet Hosts and Chalet Host Couples to join our busy overseas teams this winter.
Responsibilites
- To prepare, cook and serve cooked & continental breakfasts, home-made fresh cakes for afternoon tea, pre-dinner canapes and 4-course evening meals in accordance with the carefully devised and confidential Powder White Menu Plan
- Clean all areas of the property to the highest standards in line with our stringent quality control guidelines
- To work in accordance with food and kitchen hygiene standards specified in the Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene
- To provide general hosting duties which will include entertaining guests, booking third party suppliers and ensuring that the Powder White product is provided and received as marketed and sold
- Weekly completion of fire safety reports and chalet accounts sheets working to the Powder White allowance at all times
- Working to detailed Health & Safety Regulations to include access clearance, maintenance and safety issues in the properties and to ensure the all elements of the property are in full working order at all times
- Attend weekly Accounts & Operations meetings with both your Resort Manager and Product Coordinator
- Weekly shopping, payment of resort baker/butcher accounts and taking responsibility for any Powder White cash held
- Assisting your Resort Manager with ski pack arrangements and your Resort Product Coordinator with promotion of the Powder White clothing line
- To take pride in your role in offering the best possible experience for our guests, with an approach to enable you to go that extra mile on their behalf
Experience Required:
- Proven record of excellent team participation with the ability to also work on your own without question
- Good customer service experience in a front-line client-facing environment
- Good accounting & budgeting skills to ensure the chalet allowance is fully maximised in order to achieve excellent service and cuisine
- Computer literacy in Excel & Word
- Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene as a minimum (provided)
- Relevant cooking/chefing qualifications along with good cooking and dinner party preparation experience (NB. Regrettably we are unable to employ anyone who has only completed a 1 or 2 week cookery course without showing really strong and prolonged relevant practical experience)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be part of a team who drive forward to achieve superb results, to excel and to exceed expectations
