The Kandahar is a lovely small, famiy-run 3* hotel situated on the main high street in the heart of Val d'Isere. Built in 1955, it went through extensive renovation plans in 1994 and then further expansion and decoration was carried out in 2001. There are 41 charming rooms and suites, some of which are designed as family rooms.
The hotel has its own lovely bar with spectacular views of La Face (men's downhill run) and a warm fireplace so you can relax after a hard day on the slopes. There is also a lovely restaurant, La Taverne d'Alsace, which is adjoined to the hotel and also open to the public. Facilities include individual ski lockers, boot-dryers and massage treatments available on request. The Kandahar also has the added benefit of a sauna and steam bath and there is indoor parking available for a small supplement.
