Detailed Booking Information

 

Deposit: 30% of full balance at time of booking, payable by debit/credit card. Please note that there is a 2.5% charge on Visa/Mastercard transactions, and there is a 4% charge on American Express for the initial deposit payment for chalet bookings. If there are several deposit payments, subsequent payments will be liable to a handling fee of 2.5% for Visa/Mastercard and 4% for American Express for chalet bookings.   Hotel bookings are confirmed with a deposit of 30% of the holiday value. Signed booking form required as confirmation and deposits are non-refundable.

 

Balance: payable 12 weeks before departure.

 

Payment Methods: Via a) Visa/Mastercard (2.5% handling fee on all holiday payments & ski pack payments), b) Debit Card (no charge), c) Direct Transfer (no charge unless there are bank charges applied which are payable by you, the Client), d) American Express (4% handling fee on all holiday payments & ski pack payments).

 

Early Booking, Loyalty & Group Discounts: applicable to direct brochure-priced bookings only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts. 

 

Children: 10% discount aged 12 & under. Only applicable to fully-catered holidays at non-discounted prices.

 

Infants: £100 nominal charge (does not include food) if aged under 2 and using a cot. Highchairs available on request. NB. Infants do not receive food, milk or a shopping service however cooking facilities will be made available. 

 

Additional Beds/Mattresses: Adults & children are charged at 65% of the adult bed rate on catered holidays.  On self-catered holidays, the pro rata'd per person rate will be charged.

 

Empty Beds:  On catered holidays are charged at the 65% for the first empty bed and 75% for the second empty bed.  Maximum of one empty bed allowed in 6 person chalets and 2 empty beds in 8-12 person chalets.Empty Beds will be charged at the full adult price for holidays on the weeks commencing 28th December 2013 and 15th February 2014. These discounts are only applicable on fully catered holidays at non-discounted prices.

 

Tourist Tax: Is not included in your holiday.  This is a Government Tax that will be added to your confirmation invoice at time of booking and is paid on your behalf to the resort tourist office.

 

Internet: Internet is provided free of charge in all our properties (excluding hotels & self-catered apartments), the majority of which will have Wi-Fi.  Where Wi-Fi is not available for any reason, Powder White will provide a dongle for internet access.  Please note that certain situations may dictate that the internet is not available and we cannot be held responsible for this service being unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.  Please also note that it may not always be possible for multiple computers to be online at any one time.  As computer settings vary greatly, we cannot guarantee that all computers/devices will work.  There is a Powder White laptop available for guest use.  We ask you to please respect internet useage.  It is for straight-forward internet browsing and checking emails, it is NOT meant for live streaming events or downloads.  Viewing of pornographic or unsavory sights is not permitted and if guests are found to be doing so, this will be reported to the relevant authorities. 

 

Walkie-Talkies: one set of 4 per chalet, pre-bookable at £25 per set.

 

Playstation 2:  available to pre-book at £25 per week.

 

Babysitting: subject to availability and charged at local rate.

 

Special Requests: should be arranged through our office before departure.  Changes to these once booked will incur a £30 administration charge. 

 

Wine:  Specially selected red and white wines served shortly before and during dinner.

 

Beers & Mixers: available on a pre-booking basis through Managing Your Booking Online.

 

Minibus Shuttle Service: Powder White offer a pre-bookable minibus shuttle service which is available to certain chalets.  This service is offered between the times of 8.00 & 10.00am and 4.00 & 6.00pm for drop-offs and pick-ups from the main meeting point at the lift station only.  It is not available for evening shuttles to bars/restaurants or for daytime pick  ups in resort or in another resort within the same ski area.

 

Extras:  There are a selection of Extras that can be pre-booked through us or online at Manage Your Booking.  These are a great way to enhance your experience with us even further and include upgraded wines, labelled champagne, bottled water, massages, flower delivery, additional towel changes etc.

 

Short-stays & Ad-hoc bookings:  where a shorter than 7 day holiday is booked, guests must be aware that the chalet staff day off is on either a Wednesday or Thursday depending on which resort they are staying in.  Please note therefore that if the short-stay covers either of these days, it is understood that you will not be catered for on that particular day.

 

Ski Hire Storage Facilities: In all our resorts we have arranged storage facilities close to the base of the slopes for our guests.  This storage however is subject to using our recommended suppliers and storage will not be available to those who have pre-booked equipment through alternative suppliers.

 

Dogs:  A handful of our chalets will accept small, well-behaved, fully house-trained dogs.  Please enquite at the time of booking.  There is a £50 administration charge for bringing your dog and a larger security damage deposit will be charged.  Please note that dogs must not be left in the property unattended at any time.  Whole chalet bookings only and only pre-bookable.  Regrettably dogs will be refused if not advised in advance and pre-booked. 

 

Hairdryers:  We supply 1 hairdryer per property for guest use.  As these are limited, we recommend that you bring your own if required regularly.

 

Menu Planning: A lot of time and energy has been invested into puting together the extremely popular Powder White Menu Plan which is based on previous guest feedback over the years.  This plan is aimed to be good dinner party style cooking, it is not of a restaurant/hotel form and may include more straight-forward but hugely popular dishes such as lasagne.  We generally do not employ qualified chefs, our staff are employed for their capabilities in home cooking and for having the right approach to hosting a chalet.  Whilst we will do what we can to accommodate special/necessary dietary requirements, we hope that you can appreciate we cannot change our menu plan for individual chalet bookings.  Some requested produce is often hard to source locally and can often be significantly more expensive in the mountains.

 

Product Replacements/Swaps:  Our extremely competive pricing is based on packaging a fully catered option together taking into account local produce costs and advance purchasing/delivery costs. In order to make these prices as appealing and fair as possible, and in trying to provide our geusts with as much value as possible, we are unfortunately unable to remove or replace elements of the package sold as it would make the viability of the price paid uneconomical.  We ask you to please accept our apologies for this and thank  you for your understanding. 

Administration changes are charged at £30 per change.  These apply to some name changes, alterations to services or travel booked on your behalf (including but not limited to ski passes, ski hire, ski school, local tourist attractions, dateor property swaps, flight seats, train seats or ferry crossings).  NB additional charges may also apply if Powder White is charged by the supplier and these are to be paid by you, the Client.  

 

 

Restaurant Reservations - we recommend that these are made personally and we are happy to supply contact details of recommended restaurants.  Should you wish us to book a restaurant on your behalf a £10 non refundable administration fee will be applied and booked in your name.  Should the reservation be cancelled, an additional charge may also be made by the restaurant which will be passed to you, the Client.

This will ensure the chalet or hotel room is held for you until 12 weeks before departure at which point the balance of the holiday is payable.
