Banff and Lake Louise are both situated in the beautiful and protected Banff National Park and they boast some of the most spectacular scenary anywhere in the world. Covering 3 fantastic ski areas all accessible on the same ski pass, they offer some of the most challenging and expansive ski area in Canada.
Banff itself is a completely unspoint very attractive frontier town famous for his history and local wildlife. It is a bustling town with pletiful bars, restaurants and shops. The apres-ski is fantastic and combines ski resort life with the Country and Western feel of the area. Lake Louise is absolutely beautiful and made up of the magnificent Chateau Lake Louise and a small village centred around many activities and great skiing. Although not as big or busy as Banff, it does have a few bars, restaurants and shops for those looking to take part in a bit of apres-ski.
The skiing in Banff is based around 2 mountains; Mount Norquay which is about a 10-15 minute drive on the local shuttle bus and Sunshine which, at only 20 minutes drive, boasts a magnificent 3,158 skiable acres. Lake Louise is approximately 40 minutes from Banff and judged to be the most scenic ski area in North America, it offers very extensive skiing for skiers of all abilities which ranges from wide-open bowls to great tree-lined slopes and covers an incredible 4,200 acres of skiing terrain.
