Based: Courchevel 1650/Le Praz
Proposed Salary: £800 per month + ski pass, Accommodation, Equipment Hire, Ski Insurance, Return Travel, Company Vehicle (for use on Company business only)
Proposed Start: Wednesday 18th November 2009 – fixed term contract for mid-November to end April 2010
Hours: 8.00-11.00am & 5.00-8.00pm on 4 days of each week (Sun/Mon/Wed/Thurs), 9.30am-2.30pm & 5.00-8.00pm on 1 day of the week (Friday) and hours as required on Saturdays (changeover day)
Free Time: One full day off per week (Tuesday) plus significant additional time as detailed above.
Powder White has just completed a 6th successful season and is starting already to make preparations for the 2009/10 season.
Due to the planned new programme launch, we are looking for a strong and knowledgeable Overseas Operations Assistant to
join our Overseas Operations Manager based in Courchevel Le Praz, France. Successful applicants will have the following (preferred
but not essential):
· A good knowledge of ski resort operations as well as good chalet holiday knowledge
· Preferable knowledge of all our existing chalet resorts (currently Courchevel/Meribel/Verbier/Val d’Isere/St Anton)
as well as other leading French resorts
· Excellent communication skills with a real focus on customer service & staff management
· Good IT skills to include Word, Excel and internet (training given on the Powder White database)
· Outgoing personality with the drive to succeed
· Team-player with a calm disposition, always helpful especially at peak times
· Willingness to help out in other areas outside their job description when required
· Strong French essential and a basic understanding of German ideal
· EU passport with UK National Insurance number & full clean driving license
The main areas of responsibility will be:
1. Ensuring all weekly credit card transactions are completed for ski packs and Optional Extras.
2. Collating weekly figures from Resort Managers for sales on ski passes, ski hire and ski school.
3. Ensuring that all Resort Manager accounts are compiled and filed and checked against the shopping receipts.
4. Regular quality control checks in properties assessing cleanliness, food hygiene and menu standards.
5. Ensuring all staff adhere to the strict Powder White guidelines regarding hygiene and personal appearance.
6. Introductory training for any new members of staff overseeing issue of Employment Contracts, E101s, Staff Insurance,
Resort Manuals and Uniform where necessary.
7. Collating minibus weekly mileage and petrol figures ensuring they are being kept within the forecasted budget.
8. Monitoring wine and champagne consumption and providing figures for re-ordering when necessary.
9. Providing transfers for Powder White guests staying in the Three Valley resorts who are arriving/departing Moutiers train
station and on occasions, where possible, Chambery Airport.
10. Covering in Powder White properties where necessary. This includes cover for cooking, cleaning and/or general help for
staff as and when required. (Please note that this area of the role will potentially require you to travel to other resorts and
stay overnight/s where necessary).
11. Overseeing stockroom inventories and coordinating cots/highchairs/extras etc. Taking responsibility for the Powder White
assets including crockery, glassware and linen and reporting to the Overseas Operations Manager regarding any order
requirements/replacements.
12. On shopping days, overseeing resort shops (usually on Fridays) to ensure correct produce is being bought and budgets are
being kept to as well as providing useful help and guidance to new/struggling members of staff.
13. Compiling start and end of season paperwork including the chasing of outstanding inventories, state of property reports,
chalet information sheets etc.
14. Printing, laminating and distributing chalet notices where required.
