Getting to Chamonix is easy, it's accessible via various different routes and modes of transport. Flights

Driving
Do not forget the following:
Valid Driving License
Car Registration Document
Valid Road Tax
Insurance Papers (With Green Card if required)
GB sticker
Warning triangle
Reflective vest
Beam deflectors
Also recommended by motoring organizations (and in some cases a legal requirement) for continental travel in winter are the following items: Small spares kit, fire extinguisher, spare keys, makers handbook, spare bulbs, snow chains & shovel.
Driving from Calais
· Head in the direction of Paris. You will reach the first toll on the A26 (take ticket only) within 30mins of driving. After 2 hours pay toll fee of approx EUR19.
· Follow signs to Lyon on the A4 then A26.
· Keep following signs to Lyon (A5 now)
· Once you have passed close to Dijon, head onto the A39 towards Grenoble and Geneva.
· Head onto the A40 towards Milan, Annecy, Geneva , then shortly afterwards you will see signs to the Chamonix Mont Blanc.
Driving from Lyon
· Leave Lyon and continue onto the E611straight on towards Geneva
· Continue along A40 and head towards Chamonix
· Head onto the A40 towards Milan, Annecy, Geneva , then shortly afterwards you will see signs to the Chamonix Mont Blanc.
Driving from Geneva
· On leaving the airport join the main road, Route De Pre-Bois.
· Follow the green motorway signs to France along a straight road for about 1km.
· The E62-A1-E25 motorway takes you to the border (Bardonnex) with France.
· Once in France follow the signs for Chamonix Mont-Blanc.
Coaches
Go to Eurolines http://www.eurolines.co.uk to look at the option of getting coaches to near by cities. You will then need to take a local bus up to resort.
Prices are around £100 return.
