Eating in Courchevel Resort
We know how important refuelling is on a ski holiday and Courchevel does not disappoint on the gastronomy front. Courchevel isn’t all about the skiing they have some fantastic restaurants serving a variety of dishes; from traditional Savoyard classics through pizzas, there is something to suit most tastes. These remarkable restaurants range from the affordable to the exceedingly expensive!
We have taken the time to list all the restaurants both on and off the mountain that we think are worth paying a visit, many of which we have had the pleasure of eating in.
Unique cooking experience – all food cooked on a wood burning fire

For many, the reason why they return to Courchevel 1550 year on year, this tiny little 200 year old hut with just 8 tables inside downstairs and about the same again in a recent extension upstairs, serves all kinds of stuff….as long as it can be cooked over the open fire at the end of the room. There’s no choice of vegetable, just potatoes & onions baked in the embers of the fire. It’s not cheap with Chateaubriand at something north of €65 for two people at the high end of the main courses but it is always very good. Expect to pay around €55 a head for dinner incl. a bottle of local wine & the odd dessert or coffee. Definitely a must restaurant for meat lovers and with a sun terrace it makes for a great skiers lunch spot! Located just by the Tovets Chairlift.
Warm and cosy

This is an ideal lunch spot, right next to the piste and the fast 6 man Tovet chair lift. It's also a great place to meet if your kids are in the village's ski school, as the school meeting point is just outside the restaurant.
This restaurant is part of a family run hotel and serves delicious Savoyard cuisine which can be enjoyed either inside or on their sun terrace. Visitors can relax whilst taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and pine forests. Right in the centre of Courchevel village, this restaurant is also a popular place to eat in the evening with its warm cosy traditional wooden interior.

For a skiers lunch get yourselves along to le Caveau, between the Grangette gondola and the slope of les Tovets, in the heart of Courchevel 1550 Village. They serve the specialities of the region: such as Savoyard cheese fondue, served "au naturel" or with tomatos, morel mushrooms, porcini mushrooms... you can also sample famous Alpine dishes such as raclette and tartiflette.

This is situated at the far end of Courchevel 1650, on the left hand side as you walk up from the Tourist Office, opposite the Le Marquis building. The restaurant was refurbished about 10 years ago, and specialises in Savoy favourite dishes (frog’s legs, snails, cheese fondue accompanied by wild mushrooms) plus a wide range of other dishes, and a good wine list. Food cooked on a wood burning fire, giving the food its brilliantly unique taste.
Best of both worlds – traditional alpine & tasty pizzas

Located next door to Sport Gliss, near the Sherpa supermarket at the top end of Courchevel 1650 on the main road out towards 1850. You can choose from a wide range of excellent pizzas, to more traditional dishes from the Savoyard region. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and you will enjoy a reasonably priced meal here.
Small, cosy & traditional

Small and cosy traditional Savoyard restaurant in Courchevel, it is praised for its excellent array of local dishes, with plenty of local specialty meat and cheese. Formerlly known as L’Eterlou, it is a very reasonably priced restaurant that is famous for its exceptional pizzas.
This is a good place to go if you are looking for an inexpensive meal in a friendly, unintimidating atmosphere; it is also great for families, with a more child friendly menu.
Very popular with the locals – so it must be good

Just a few yards from the bottom of the ski runs through the archway and to the right, a few doors up from Spar in Courchevel 1650. It’s cosy and very well-liked by not only tourists but by the locals, so a reservation is always necessary. Affordable local cuisine and wood-fired pizzas served in a traditional mountain atmosphere.
It is a charming restaurant that has been kept a close secret; this is one of the better value restaurants in Courchevel. Pascal the owner is always welcoming and makes you feel relaxed and at ease in the warm atmosphere. This is also a great place to go with children and if you do not want to break the bank, but still want to enjoy a traditional Savoyard meal.
Tapas and Pizza’s

This wine bar and meat restaurant is ideally located in the heart of Courchevel 1650. This is a new restaurant that has opened its doors to Courchevel 1650, they offer a selection of tapas, pizza’s and meat dishes.Le Boeuf Royal is a small but cosy restaurant , and caters for all tastes. They even have a small number of tables outside, so you can make the most of the sunshine!
2 Michelin stars – among the best and priciest

This restaurant, located in the Hotel Chabichou, is among the best and priciest in Courchcvel 1850, with 2 Michelin stars. The décor is alpine style; the warmth of the interior makes it a welcoming place where you can discover one of the best restaurants in Savoie.
You can dine in the elegant dining room garbed in light wood, an open kitchen where you can observe the chefs at work. There is also an outstanding list of wines selected to compliment the array of dishes that appear on the menu. Michel Rochedy proposes inspirational cooking, both international and original. You can have lunch on the sunny terrace on the slopes or dinner in the main dining room or private lounge.
Savoyard yet contemporary

In its Savoy yet contemporary style Le Chabotte comes alive around its open kitchen with live music ambiance at the bar or cabaret nights and magic shows. The restaurant, overlooked by a mezzanine, offers a multi-purpose are for various events. The modern interior combines wood and metal work and unique materials. You can go in for a lovely tasty evening meal or simply for a coffee and croissant.
The owner Nicolas Rochedy makes you feel very welcome, he is more than happy to talk to you about the hotel and the restaurant, this personal touch is what makes it stand out.
Gastronomic restaurant – speciality gourmet menu

On the top floor of the Hotel Pomme de Pin, the decor is a combination of wood and glass that creates a warm and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant is superbly located, it overlooks Courchevel 1850 centre.
Jean-Pierre Jacob, highly considered in several gastronomic guides, composes an inspired menu. Specialities on the gourmet menu include poached eggs with truffles, lobster cooked in bacon, coquilles St Jacques roasted with peanuts and pan fired winter salad with apple vinegar sauce.
This is a lovely place to go if you are looking to spoil yourself and have a once in the life time experience, it will however cost you a small fortune, with meals ranging from €35 to €170.
Best fondue & raclette in town!

Porte de Courchevel – cosy restaurant with a log fire in the centre - has the best fondue and raclette in town and Michelin agrees, giving it a fork. Located at the resort entrance, a mountain style restaurant with traditional cuisine; tartiflette, food cooked on stone slabs and flambéed game. Choose from cheese specialty menus ranging in price from €24–€36.
This restaurant is highly recommended, excellent quality food at a reasonable price.
Most inviting restaurant – cosy atmosphere

Le Cloche with its wooden panelling and leather bar, candles and white table linen and terra cotta tiles, the gourmet bistro La Cloche immediately strikes you as one of the warmest and inviting restaurant in Courchevel 1850. A very attractive little restaurant La Cloche serves traditional dishes at a reasonable price either on the terrace or in the dining room.
This is a great restaurant for all you hopeless romantics.....
International Menu – Tex Mex

Located on the ski slopes, at the lower floor of the Forum building in Courchevel 1850. Ku de ta offer an international menu consisting of Tex Mex and pizza at a reasonable price, it has become one of the most affordable places to eat. Renowned for their gourmet burgers, pizzas, huge salads and new to the menu is their delicious Safari Burger served with tender slices of Ostrich meat or Kanagroo. It has a casual lounge atmosphere with chilled out music sets, making it the perfect scene for dinner. You can then party the night away in the bar!

This restaurant is everything you would imagine a typical Savoyard restaurant to be; the decor has an alpine feel, small and cosy. The restaurant is very welcoming and you feel like you are in a mountain hut, and the food only adds to this; serving all the Savoyard classics such as fondue, raclette and tartiflette. L’Anerie is located in the Place du Forum in the centre of Courchevel 1850. The restaurant also has a beautiful south facing terrace, so you can go and enjoy a drink or two in the sunshine.
This cosy little restaurant is worth a visit, especially if you are looking to sample some tasty Savoyard dishes!
Traditional food with great live music

L’Aventure is ideally situated in the Place du Forum and the terrace which overlooks the Croisette is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. The restaurant has a traditional alpine feel, with its wooden interior and cosy ambiance. L’Aventure is a gourmet bistro serving traditional Savoyard dishes at a reasonable price in beautiful surroundings.
The atmosphere changes throughout the night, once dinner is finished, live music begins and continues into the ealy hours of the morning (4am).
This is a great place for a traditional alpine meal followed by some live music....what more could you want!
Best sun terrace

In the very heart of Courchevel 1850, there is a south facing terrace with direct access via your skis, making this the perfect place to ski into for a spot of lunch or evening meal – access via main slopes; Bellecote, Verdons and Loze. The restaurant serves refined cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a warm and cosy atmosphere.
The vast terrace area is not to be missed, whilst you are in the mountains and the sunshine you may as well make the most of the beautiful surroundings!
