Courchevel Resort Information

We appreciate that you may not know very much about the resort you are travelling to, so we have put together a really handy page of useful information about Courchevel.

WiFi Access out and about

There is WiFi available in our chalets, but if you prefer to be out and about there is free access to the internet at the Tourism Offices and most hotels and bars offer WiFi, which some charge for. Most bars advertise their WiFi in their windows and require a code - it is always a good idea to buy a drink if you are using their WiFi.

Pistes & Connectability

For someone not used to the squiggly lines on a piste map, here are the colours of piste explained. Everyone will have their favourite piste runs and discovering them is part of the excitement, but here are a few of our favourite runs that we highly recommend.
Courchevel Piste Grading
The Three Valley ski area is not just for intermediate and advanced skiers. Out of 358 runs, just over half are easy and half are intermediate to advanced pistes. The ski area was designed as much for beginners and children, as for experienced skiers.

Question: ''How easy is it to get from Courchevel 1650 to Courchevel 1850?''

Answer: It is very easy to get to Courchevel (1850) from Courchevel Moriond (1650), so don’t be put off if you are staying in 1650 and your ski school meeting point in the morning is in 1850. The free Navette shuttle bus that links all sections of Courchevel starts running from 1650 at approximately 07:20, so if you take the 08:50 bus from the centre of 1650 you will be in 1850 for 09:00. Bus timetables do change on some weeks of the season, so it is worth popping into the tourist office if you plan to use the bus a lot during the week.
If you have a slightly later ski school time, the easiest way to get to Courchevel 1850 is by getting the Ariondaz gondola in the main area of 1650 and then from there take the green run on the right hand side which develops into the Gravelles blue run. At the bottom of the blue run, take the Gravelles chair lift up and once you reach the top, ski down the Altiport blue run and the connecting green runs which will take you into the Jardin Alpin and alongside the lift of the same name and the Bellecote lift. Ski school meeting points for 1850 are at the bottom of the Jardin Alpin lift, or across the road at the Tovets lift, accessible by the Cospillot blue run, which connects from the Altiport blue run.

Easy Peasy!

 Free Shuttle Buses

Courchevel has a regular free bus service linking the four levels of Courchevel, which is great if you need to get to a ski school meeting point in the morning or wish to explore a different level of Courchevel.  Buses run frequently between St. Bon, Le Praz, La Tania, 1550, 1650, 1850. The journey time from Le Praz  to Courchevel 1850 is approximately 25 minutes.
You can of course easily use the lifts between Courchevel 1550 and 1850 if you prefer, however the buses run regularly throughout the day, right up until late at night. You will not need to pay to use the ski buses, as they are provided free of charge throughout the season – even if you do not ski. This means that you can also travel in the evening to other parts of the resort, without worrying about how you are going to get home.

Although many of our chalets, apartments and hotels have their own private parking spaces for guests, there are 2 covered car parks in Courchevel 1650 and 6 covered car parks in Courchevel 1850 that are open to the public. The first hour is free in all of the covered car parks and you can park your car overnight between 19:00 – 08:00 for €1 per night.

As you enter the resort you will come across plenty of signs for parking, below are the maps of the car parks in Courchevel 1650 and 1850 and the parking prices for the 2012/2013 season.
