La Plagne - Resort Information

La Plagne

La Plagne is a great ski resort and to help you save time orientating yourself we have put together a little guide. Find out how to get around the resort, learn about the pistes and know best places to park. Also check out our other pages about La Plagne Ski Resort which provide handy hints such as where to eat and drink and alternative activities to enjoy.

Getting Around

All the La Plagne resorts are linked by handy shuttle buses and by cable car.  The buses/cable cars start at around 8.30am and run until 12.45am-1am depending on the route they take. These buses that are known locally as Navettes are free, and you don't even need a lift pass. It's a great way for you to explore the other villages in the evenings.

Pistes & Connectability

For someone not used to the squiggly lines on a piste map, here are the colours of piste explained. Everyone will have their favourite piste runs and discovering them is part of the excitement, but here are a few of our favourite runs that we highly recommend.

Colour
Type of run
Our Favouites
Blue
Nursery and easy runs, some with a slight gradient increase and a few more bumps and uneven ground that may test your balance
Leitchoums and Verdons
Red
Suitable for the intermediate level skier who is confident on steeper slopes with increased bumps, can be challenging in places
Kamikaze and Sources
Black
For advanced and experienced skiers only, who can master very difficult, steep and uneven terrain
Rochette and Derochoir
Snowpark
Denotes that there is a snow park. Expect jumps, kickers, rails and half pipes
Colorado Park

Parking

There are a good number of parking spaces in each La Plagne village. However, these are closely supervised so you need to make sure that you read all of the details carefully. Many of them can be paid for in resort. Underground parking will cost roughly 90 Euros per week. There are outdoor spaces also available which cost around 35 Euros per week.
