Ski Holidays in Les Arcs Ski Resort

Les Arcs is a wonderful, modern resort made up of four self contained purpose built villages that each offer doorstep access to the fantastic Paradiski area. Now linked to La Plagne, the area offers a massive 425km of piste including the glacier above Arc 2000.

Arc 1600, the original village, faces south-west and with its extensive tree-lined skiing and a multitude of interlinked blue and red runs, there is something to offer every grade of skier. Arc 1800 is the biggest of the villages and you will find a good selection of shops and restaurants. It is a firm favourite with families and beginners and provides excellent access to the skiing. Intermediate and advanced skiers are attracted to Arc 2000 with its proximity to the Aiguille Rouge glacier and guaranteed snow. The latest addition, Arc 1950 has a super range of shops, restaurants and facilities. Here you will find spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the best of luxury accommodation and skiing convenience.

Les Arcs mirrors most of the French purpose built ski centres in not having a particularly strong apres ski reputation. Although Les Arcs has many different levels, if you want to be out on the town every night then Arc 1800 is the place for you. Owing to the large proportion of self-catering apartments, all the Les Arcs villages are well-equipped with small supermarkets as well as specialist grocers. There are also plenty of restaurants to try in each area with many offering Savoyard cuisine. There are cinemas at 2000, 1800 and 1600, skating at 1800 and 2000 and a bowling alley at 1800 but the only public swimming pool is down in the valley. A lot of the other activities are based on the snow, with skidoos, snow tubing and horse and dog sledding. However this is essentially a resort for skiers rather than non-skiers.
