Les Arcs Ski Resort

Les Arcs
Superb extensive terrain of the Paradiski ski area
Great resort for all levels of skier and snowboarder
Excellent rail links from UK and Paris

Four separate vllages with their own individual identities
Some fantastic resort and mountain restaurants
Off Piste:

If you are searching for a resort more ski mad than price tag – look no further than Les Arcs. Though cheaper than the likes of Courchevel and Val d’Isère, Les Arcs is a wonderful, modern resort made up of four self contained purpose built villages that each offer doorstep access to the fantastic Paradiski area. Now linked to La Plagne via the double-decker Vanoise Express cable-car (one of the largest and fastest in the world), the area offers a massive 425km of piste, including the glacier above Arc 2000.

Beginners and intermediates will benefit from the long, smooth pistes down to the villages of Arc 1600 and Arc 1800, where as the more thrill-seeking skier will revel in the bowls and inclines on the Aiguille Rouge. The compromise of Les Arcs is in the 'experimental’ architecture of the 1960s and 70s, which resonates in all villages of its villages bar 1950. But if you can see past this, Les Arcs is an obvious choice for your next ski holiday. Here at Powder White, we have selected apartments in what we consider the top two villages in Les Arcs – 1800 and 1950.

Arc 1800, the largest and liveliest of the villages, remains a firm favourite for families and beginners with excellent access to the skiing. Les Arcs mirrors most of the French purpose built ski centres in not having a particularly strong après ski reputation – but there is lots of fun to be had on and off skis – if you want to be out in town every night, then Arc 1800 is the place for you.

Les Arcs has a great deal of potential, so much so that Intrawest, the owners of the world renowned Canadian resort Whistler, created their own village at 1950 metres in 2008 - widely known as ‘Le Village’.  This modern, pedestrianised resort is completely ski-in ski-out and connects to Arc 2000 via the Cabriolet gondola. Arc 1950 has a super range of shops, restaurants and facilities. Here you will find spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the best luxury accommodation and skiing convenience of any of the Les Arcs villages.

Les Arcs is very easily accessible with Arc 1600 situated under 10 minutes away from Bourg St Maurice train station via the ‘Arc en Ciel’ funicular. After the funicular ride, you can take the rest of your journey via the free shuttle bus, which connects all the villages.

Powder White have a range of Self Catered Apartments in Les Arcs available for hire at low prices
