Meribel Resort Information & FAQ's

Meribel

We appreciate that you may not know very much about the resort you are travelling to, so we have put together a really handy page of useful information about Courchevel.

WiFi Access out and about

There is WiFi available in our chalets, but if you prefer to be out and about there is free access to the internet at the Tourism Offices and most hotels and bars offer WiFi, which some charge for. Most bars advertise their WiFi in their windows and require a code - it is always a good idea to buy a drink if you are using their WiFi.

Pistes & Connectability

For someone not used to the squiggly lines on a piste map, here are the colours of piste explained. Everyone will have their favourite piste runs and discovering them is part of the excitement, but here are a few of our favourite runs that we highly recommend.

Parking

There are covered car parks in Méribel centre at La Chaudanne, Le Rond Point, and also up in Méribel-Mottaret. Parking is free on the streets but not in the town centre, however if you do park on the street or in an outdoor car park you may need to move your vehicle after a snowfall to allow for snow clearance. Look out for yellow warning signs and ‘deneigement’ signs that let you know when snow clearing is to be carried out.

Free outdoor car parks are located in Meribel at Les Ravines, Altiport, Méribel Village, and in Mottaret at le Chatelet, on the Route du Laitelet and at Le Hameau.

Indoor parking cannot be reserved in advance and tickets can be bought on entrance to the car park from a machine. The first hour of parking is usually free, and prices then start from 2 hours €3, 5 hours €6, 1 day €15, 3 days €35 and 7 days €55.

Free Shuttle

Meribel has a regular free bus service linking the different areas of the resort, which is great if you need to get to a ski school meeting point in the morning or wish to explore a different level of Meribel.  Buses run frequently on 4 separate routes, namely Meribel- Meribel Mottaret, Meribel - Les Allues, Meribel - Altiport and Meirbel- Meribel Village.

You will not need to pay to use the ski buses, as they are provided free of charge throughout the season – even if you do not ski. This means that you can also travel in the evening to other parts of the resort, without worrying about how you are going to get home. Buses run up until Midnight on certain routes, but it is always best to check the individual stops for timings.

LocalTaxis

We can organise a private transfer for your journeys to and from the train station or airport, however if you are looking to travel further than a free bus will take you, or in the early hours of the morning here are a list of local taxis that can assist you
