St Foy Ski Resort

St Foy Ski Resort
Small attractive resort with in keeping Savoyard architecture
Epic off piste and safe untracked powder within the lift system
Good mix of wooded and open slopes

Great base for exploring other resorts in the Tarantaise Valley

Accommodation is convenient for lifts and nursery slopes

Off Piste:

St Foy Tarantaise started life as something of a cult destination for off-piste, however this attractive little resort is now popular with a whole range of skiers, including families. Located on the way up the Tarataise Valley from Bourg St Maurice, it is a great base for visiting resorts such as Tignes, Val d'Isère and Les Arcs, whilst holding its own with a mix of wooded and open blue and red slopes. Pistes are generally quiet with few lift queues and the resort maintains a great freeriding area. In addition the nursery slopes are easily accesssible from the accomodation and beginners will enjoy their natural progression up the blue runs.

St Foy feels like a complete resort in miniature; it has a select choice of bars, some excellent restaurants both on and off the mountain, a small supermarket and a cluster of chalets and chalet-style apartment blocks, all tastefully built in the traditional Savoyard style of wood and stone. What's more, the Tarantaise mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to the village's pleasant setting between the trees.
