St Anton Eating
St Anton or indeed Austria may not immediately spring to mind when thinking about fine European cuisine, but don’t let that put you off. There are mountain restaurants serving Scnhnitzel's and Goulash soup that would warm even the coldest skier, give some of these a try.
Hopiz Alm
In the centre of St Christoph (20 mins from St Anton by bus), it is located just before the St Christoph 4-man chairlift, at the bottom of Blue 8. Out of town but definitely worth the trip for a special occasion. Original, rustic, stylish; the Hospiz alm serves authentic Tyrolean food with warm and careful hospitality. The Hopiz has the largest collection of large wine bottles in the world, with tours of the cellar available upon request. The buzzing Hospiz Alm is also famed for its slide down to the toilets.

Albona
Situated at the top of Albona I (2-man chairlift) which leaves from Stuben village, no pedestrian or telephone. Set at Stuben mid-station, Albona is well-placed for sun and a cheaper-than-average (but still tasty) self-service mountain lunch. The low prices mean that there is often a queue at lunch time and finding a table inside may be hard, a problem that can be exacerbated by ski schools making block reservations. Outside however there is a large sun-terrace with picnic tables and a sweeping view over the mountains.
Ulmerhuette
Take the Arlenmähder 6-man chairlift, ski down Blue 12 (Ulmerhütte) and it's on the left. No Pedestrian access. Children will need to be strong skiers and there is only a small selection on the menu. You really feel in the heart of the Arlberg at this mountain hut. Almost-360° views over the sweeping pistes. Open 9.30am-4.30pm.

Specialities include pork shanks, Tyrolean Grostl and spare ribs. Open 10am-5pm on normal days, 10am-11pm Tues & Thurs - but check if open on snowy days as heavy snow covers the track.
