St Anton - Eating in Resort
We know how important refuelling is on a ski holiday and St Anton does not disappoint on the gastronomy front. St Anton isn’t all about the skiing and there are some fantastic restaurants serving a variety of dishes; from traditional Savoyard classics through to pizzas, there is something to suit most tastes. These remarkable restaurants range from the affordable to the exceedingly expensive! We have taken the time to list all the restaurants both on and off the mountain that we think are worth paying a visit, many of which we have had the pleasure of eating in.
If money is no object
The Museum - +43 (0) 5446 2968
If you are looking for a blow-out meal that will cost you a small fortune then head up the hill to the village’s Museum restaurant, just a short distance from our Chalet Fritz. Excellent, sophisticated food and wine which is served in elegant surroundings. The gourmet menu includes locally-caught fish and game, the Museum combines international and Austrian cuisine and puts particular emphasis on fresh produce. Make sure you explore the rest of the Museum after your meal, which remains open to diners. This venue was used as the chalet in the hit movie 'Chalet Girl'.
Hazienda - +43 (0) 5446 30260
Hazienda is a basement place in the main street with a wide ranging international menu; steaks, seafood and pasta dishes, complimented by a selection of great tasting wines. It serves up well prepared informal dishes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This restaurant is a favourite with the tourists and the locals. Reservations are essential if you wish to eat here.
Fab for families
Floriani - +43 (0) 5446 2330
This is a great little pizza place that the children will love. The family run pizza restaurant has a great menu with an atmosphere to match. With a welcoming atmosphere and cosy surroundings along with a reasonably priced menu it makes the Floriani a popular restaurant, and understandably you cannot pre-book a table here. The Floriani can be found just a short walk up the hill from the Rendlbahn lift on Alte Arlbergstrasse and just a short walk down hill from our Chalet Fritz.
Traditional Austrian Dress
Dorf Stub’n - +43 (0) 54462714
This is a lovely traditional restaurant in the heart of the village, located above BoBo’s bar/restaurant and underneath the Hotel Kristall. This is a perfect place to go with the family with an extensive menu with plenty of Austrian dishes to choose from. The waitresses serve you traditional Austrian dresses, which adds to the atmosphere.
Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!
Pomodoro - +43 (0) 5446 3333
This is the main pizza restaurant in St Anton and is located next to the Funky Chicken. You are unable to book a table, so in order to avoid waiting I would suggest getting there earlier rather than later. It is less rustic than the Floriani, a traditional Italian restaurant, the Pomodoro has a loud and lively atmosphere. They do take away pizzas if you simply want to go home and put your feet up with your pizza. There is no shortage of pizza places in St Anton, Anthony's also do take away pizza and is located on the main street.
Pizza and Seafood- Cracking Combo!
San Antonio Pizza - +43 (0) 5446 3474
Another one of St Anton’s pizzeria’s, however this is located at the Nasserein end of the town, so it is perfect if you are staying in Nasserein in our Chalet Levett, Nina or Clara and you do not wish to wonder far. They have a selection of great pizzas and pastas but also seafood such as scallops, all reasonably priced. With its wooden panelling decor, it has a cosy and traditional alpine feel to it.
Something a little bit different
Kandahar - +43 (0) 5446 30260
Not many people would thinking of going here for a meal, but they actually service some excellent Thai and Indian cuisine. Kandahar has an Asian feel to it, with seating in small booths, the decor is in keeping with the Eastern style. The ingredients are fresh each day wherever possible with others being imported from Asia. It is located next to the Volksbank in the centre of the village.
Do any of the above restaurants take your fancy? If so, it may be worth booking it either prior to your departure by simply calling the number detailed or alternatively you can wait until you arrive in resort and let your resort manager know which restaurant you would like to book and they will be more than happy to help. We highly recommend that if there is the option to pre-book that you do so to save disappointment.
