Tignes - Activites

There are a large range of non-skiing activities however Tignes is predominantly geared towards the keen skier. 

 

Tignes has plenty to offer including a great selection of shops and boutiques. There are a range of non skiing activities which also include an excellent sports centre, hiking trails, ice rink, husky sledging, paragliding and not for getting the many bars and restaurants that Tignes has to offer.

 

Ice Skating

Tignes skating rink is an open-air rink, located on the frozen lake in the heart of the resort. Skate leisurely together with your friends at the 600m outdoor rink. Admission to Tignes skating rink is free, so it is well worth a visit, you will however need to hire skates. You can also opt to play some winter games on the lake which include ice hockey, Tignes also offers 'Disco on Ice' during the evenings every week, from 8pm to 10pm. The ice rink is open 11:00am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 8:00pm daily.

 

Ice Diving

Intriguing, surprising, captivating. Not a single noise or movement, rediscover the wild and feel at one with nature. Whether a beginner or advanced ice diver, plunge straight into the icy waters of the frozen lake and take advantage of professional advice, suitable facilities and equipment to go ice diving in utter safety.

Ice Driving

In Tignes, you can demonstrate how daring you are beyond the ski runs. Forget about city driving and discover ice driving at an altitude of 1,500m. You will discover all the tricks whilst racing around the purpose built ice track; emergency braking, turning, counter-steering and skidding. Even though you are left to negotiate your own way around the track, you are taught and briefed by certified instructors. Located on Tignes ice track, in Les Brevierers.

Paragliding

Live the dream, whilst experiencing a feeling of absolute freedom. Snowmobiling

In Tignes, nothings stops the fun. At nightfall, the snow becomes a terrain to discover a unique sport combining nighttime discovery and adrenaline snowmobiling. You can enjoy the pleasure of driving a motorised vehicle whilst exploring the resort beneath the starry sky. The main highlight of the evening will be when you stop at the Mongolian Yurt, which overlooks the resort, this is an inviting and rustic hut that will only enhance your unique and exciting snowmobiling experience.

Ski Joring

Perfect for those enthusiasts of both skiing and equestrian sports, ski joring combines both sports to make one unique sporting experience. The sport is practised on the icefield of Tignes' Lake, where you will be pulled on skis or snowboard. Ski joring is open to all ages and abilities, and is open every day from December to April.

Ice Climbing

The artificial waterfall of Tignes is frozen, announcing the arrival of winter. Climbing up a wall of ice, you are sure to enjoy the thrill of this unique experience. Wearing a harness and crampons, with an ice axe in hand and helmet you will be all set to go and conquer the icefall. Located in the heart of the resort, ice climbing is open for all to enjoy.
