Val d'Isere Restaurants
Val d'Isere has some excellent restaurants for lunch and your evening meal. Here are a few of our favourites:
Edelweiss
This is currently the most popular for both food and attractive location. The wood and stone Edelweiss is situated on the side of the quiet Piste Mangard above Le Fornet, and offers fine cuisine and wines along with a friendly and refined atmosphere. However the best feature of this restaurant is the spectacular view down the valley toward Val d'Isere from the sun-soaked terrace. Prices for main courses range from €12 to €31, current features on their menu are a Duo of Foie Gras, Fillet of Beef, Osso Bucco of Veal, and they also offer a variety of more traditional dishes. It does get booked up quickly each morning so call early to avoid disappointment.

Located at the top of the La Daille gondola, this restaurant is part of the infamous La Folie Douce. The restaurant is designed in the authentic style of a milk cooperative complete with milk churns and faux cheese wheels. Why not try the house special, ‘Feuillete Savoyard’, which is melted local cheese and ham, sandwiched in a light fluffy pastry crust and served on a slate platter.

La Cave
Underneath La Fruitiere’s restaurant is La Cave, a huge long dining room dug into the mountain rock. The menu is very similar to upstairs and it has the most incredible wine collection; Chateau Margaux, Mouton Rothchild, Haut Brion and Saint Emilion. The wall also houses refrigerated aging cheeses from local farms.
