What's Happening?

In 2016/17 the Arlberg ski area expanded lifts to allow skiers and snowboarders to explore more with saving time and the hassle of catching a bus. This was the birth of the Flexenbahn Cableway. This has made the Arlberg skiing area the largest contiguous skiing area in Austria! With a total investment of €45m, we would say it is money well worth spent. From Zürs, Trittkopfbahn I leads to the new intermediate station, from where skiers may either continue to the new top station of Trittkopfbahn II or use the new Flexenbahn to carry on to Alpe Rauz in Stuben. This means that all resorts of the Arlberg skiing area – St. Anton and St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Oberlech as well as Schröcken and Warth – will be easily and comfortably accessible on skis. With the new cableway link, skiers on the Arlberg – Austria’s largest contiguous skiing area – will have easy access to a total of 305 km of downhill slopes and 87 lifts and cableways.

Pistes in Lech

Lech creates a single large ski region with plenty of variety whose pistes end at the hotel door. With the Flexenbahn lift now in place, you have the option to enjoy up to 305km of skiing, making it one of Austria's largest ski resorts. Lech has an astounding snow record with its own micro-climate which means it gets more snow than almost anywhere else in Austria! Although the pistes are preferred by intermediates and advanced skiers, Lech also has a few good beginner slopes and fantastic ski schools which is why it is the perfect family ski resort.
