Leogang is a pretty, traditional village with a mixture of old and tastefully designed newer buildings centred around the village church. The resort is a great option for those wishing to stay in a good value, authentic mountain village with all the benefits of a modern ski area.
Leogang lies on the extensive and well-connected Ski Circus, for which the neighbouring resorts of Saalbach and Hinterglemm are perhaps better known. The village has a decent range of restaurants, mostly serving traditional Austrian cuisine, including the award-winning Gourmetwirtshaus Kirchenwirt. Après ski tends to start on the mountain at one of the many ski huts, before heading down to the Kralleralm in the village.
Leogang itself is has some excellent slopes at the bottom of the mountain, whilst more experienced skiers can head on to the vast Ski Circus area. Here, modern lifts and 270 km of varied ski slopes combine to provide a superb experience for all levels of skier. Leogang's local skiing is some of the best there is on the Circus, with some wonderful long runs back down through the trees on north facing slopes to the village itself.
