Schladming's ski area provides 123 km of pistes spread across 4 linked mountains and a good selection of modern lifts, following investment from hosting the World Ski Championships in 2013. The Dachstein Glacier is part of the wider region, thus offering snow security. Schladming is an excellent resort for intermediates - roughly three quarters of the runs are red, and many are tree lined.
The pedestrianised town centre provides a good selection of shops and cafés and whilst the resort is not particularly known for its aprés ski, there is a good selection of bars, including the Hohenhaus Tenne, next to the Planai base station.
Schladming's ski area is spread over 4 linked mountains. The resort is best suited to intermediates, with an excellent range of red slopes, but there also some easy blues (beginners should stick to the slopes close to the village) and some challenging terrain for expert skiers.
