On Canada's Powder Highway it's no surprise Red Mountain sees some epic snowfalls with an average of 7.6metres of snow each year. It's in the top 10 ski resorts in N. America size-wise and being thoroughly underrated, means you'll find huge areas of uncrowded pistes.
Tree skiing powder junkies will be in their element, but the friendly locals, charming town and great mellow slopes across the whole mountain make it perfect for families and those less confident on the snow too.
Staying in one of our handpicked hotels or apartments either in the Red Mountain ski resort or the nearby town of Rossland with it's friendly, laid-back vibe. You'll find plenty of shopping, dining and drinking options in Rossland, but here it really is all about the skiing.

Red Mountain, which the resort is named after, is small fry in the modern ski area. Yes, it has some great short but varied runs here but it's all about the other two linked mountains; Grey Mountain and Granite Mountain with 360 degree slopes and some of the best tree skiing in British Columbia!
This has opened up a whopping 3,850 acres of pristine skiing and with 7.6m average annual snowfall, you're in for one hell of a time. Consistently winning 'most underrated resort' and 'best up and coming resort' and 'most acres per skier' awards - long may the hoards stay away. You can still easily find powder stashes a week after fresh snowfall.
Those that do come seem to have some sort of magical disappearing act once you get onto the mountain, as you'll find runs to yourself on a regular basis. The piste map can't show the whole extent of the runs as they loop right around the back of the mountains.
To break it down the ski area consists of 17% beginner runs (plenty for families and learners to progress on) 34% intermediate terrain to cruise around the mountain. 23% advanced and 26% expert (but this really feels like more).
