What's Happening?

A new 10-seat gondola to replace the Wizard and Solar chairlifts on Blackcomb Mountain and a new six-passenger speed lift to replace the current Emerald Chair in the Family Ski Zone on Whistler Mountain.

Five new trails have added fifteen kilometres to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park trail inventory, equaling an increase of 20% more lift accessed riding. The new trails are a mix of machine-built freeride and hand-built technical single track suitable for the intermediate and expert level rider and can be accessed directly from the Creekside Gondola, Garbanzo Express/Upper Whistler Village Gondola, and from Top of the World.

Pistes in Whistler

With an incredibly reliable average snowfall of 12m, Whistler is a snow sure resort, for sure! The ski area is one of the largest in the world, with some 8,000 acres of pistes and 1,610m of vertical, open from Mid-November until May.

The skiing and snowboarding is world class, and will suit all needs- both off piste and on- carefully groomed nursery slopes with ski schools, plenty to easy blue and green slopes for those finding their feet in the snow, and even of more options for those at a more intermediate level including the bowls and the Extremely Canadian off-piste tours for those who fancy something a little more daring. Here our favourite runs we discovered there.

Green

Burnt Stew is a classic Whistler trail, and one of the only beginner runs you will be able to find up in the Whistler alpine.

A whole 5.5 km top to bottom, this is a must do, as well as rewarding yourself with a beer at Dusty's in Creekside once the hard work is over!

Red

As far as black diamond trails at Whistler Blackcomb go, this is one of the better ones to get used to skiing moguls.

These 8 trails designated as double black diamonds, all being very similar in nature with tight chites and steep drops!
