Update: Sunday 28th November 2021
Thank you for visiting our website. As you can imagine we’re receiving a lot of concerned phone calls and emails, so we ask you to please bear with us for the moment. As yet, there is no sign that the latest restrictions put in place on Saturday 27th November will impact your holiday – these are intended to be temporary. Whilst Switzerland have imposed a 10 day quarantine on arrival for the new few days, we are hopefully that this will no longer apply for fully vaccinated travellers in the weeks and months to come.
NB: **For those travelling through Geneva airport, there is currently no requirement to isolate on arrival if your destination is a French ski resort.**
It seems that PCR testing on return from your holiday may be reintroduced longer term, but again, we will not know whether this will be the case until more research is done into the new strain of Covid-19 – Omicron. We are confident this particular measure will be temporary.
We would advise at this state to sit tight and await further information from both the UK Government and the Governments of those countries to which we offer ski holidays – please see links below with important updates released by various authorities.
We appreciate these are very uncertain and uncomfortable times and we are so sorry that we all find ourselves in this difficult position again. We would kindly ask you not to call our office if your holiday is not due to start until January 2022 and beyond. For those departures for before and over the festive period, we will be in contact with you as quickly as possible. We are however confident that all your holidays will go ahead as planned, perhaps only with increased testing in place.
We will do everything we can to keep you updated although we would encourage you to seek advice on travel requirements through the www.gov.uk website.
This is a case of us all holding our nerve – we are confident that we will be skiing this winter!
Many thanks for your understanding,
The Team at Powder White
As at 26/11/21:
Many of you have contacted us with questions regarding COVID-19 regulations for travelling to the ski resorts this winter. So that you are provided with the best and most updated information, we must direct you to the official government & public health details hubs to avoid any miscommunication (see below). Please do not rely on other unofficial sources. Different articles are saying different things and our wonderful UK media is causing an awful lot of confusion. It is more simple than it may seem.
Information on COVID-19 is constantly being updated. It is therefore everyone’s personal responsibility to stay informed and adhere to the regulations in place to ensure their own, and others’ safety this winter.
Please note that if you are travelling into or through any of the following countries to reach your accommodation, remember to check the regulations those countries as well.

RESORT ADVICE/TESTING FACILITIES
Some ski resorts have been better than others at releasing information regarding testing on the ground (thumbs up to Val Thorens!). Others are yet to announce how this will be managed but be assured, it will be in place and a simple process. All resorts have dedicated pages on their tourist office websites relating to COVID-19 and we recommend that you check these sites for resort specific information.
NB. As at 26/11/21, where testing is required, this is to be completed every 72 hours NOT every 24 hours as rumours suggest.
The Health Pass (which is known as the “Pass Sanitaire” in France, the “Covid Certificate” in Switzerland and the “Gruener Pass” or “Green Passport” in Austria) is compulsory for all guests from 12 years old and will be requested on arrival at the residences.
Once the Health Pass has been presented, you will be able to access the facilities of the residence, such as swimming pools, restaurants, bars etc. Details will be given about property specific protocols on the ground.
Please note that, although you can download your Health Pass QR code from the NHS App, you may be required to download and transfer that QR code to the relevant apps, such as the ToutAntiCovid app in France. Please read the information in the links regarding the Health Pass equivalents and the available apps.
