Updated 5th January 2022
First of all, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year!
Whilst the British are still being prevented from holidaying in France, other countries remain open with various testing requirements in place. It goes without saying that you are best to be double vaccinated and boosted and in Austria, this is now the only way to enter for travellers aged 12 & over.
The 2021/22 season is continuing as normally as it can and conditions are currently excellent. There has been warm weather over the festive period, however a cold front is now moving in and there is a lot of snow forecast over the coming few days. We still have great availability in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and North America so do please get in touch with us and we’ll help get you on your way as soon as possible. Remember that France also remains open to other nations and with great availability and last minute prices, we’re sure to have some great options.
For those whose holidays have already been affected or questions remain, please see our FAQs below. You should be able to find the answers here, however if not, do please email us on email@example.com or call us on 020 8877 8888.
Q. My Holiday has been cancelled, when should I expect a refund:
A. We are working closely with our accommodation suppliers regarding cancelled holidays over Christmas, New Year & early January. They are trying to administer a huge amount of cancellations therefore there will inevitably a knock-on effect on us. We also have a large number of customers who have sadly lost their holiday. All our affected guests who were due to travel up to and including 3rd January 2022 have now been contacted.
Q. Will my holiday to France which is booked from January onwards go ahead as planned:
A. As yet, there is still no indication when the French borders will reopen to the British. We will however be keeping everyone up to date as soon as we have any additional information.
Q. Ski Holidays to other destinations outside France:
A. These are currently going ahead as planned with testing requirements in place which you must familiarise yourself with on www.gov.uk both prior to you leaving the UK and before arriving back in the UK. As of today, Austria require all holidaymakers aged 12 & over to have been double-vaccinated and boosted. They will also need to have a negative PCR test in order to enter the country.
Q. When will restrictions be lifted:
A. We do not yet know. We are reliant on both the British Government and the Government of the country you are visiting. Despite popular belief, we do not get information prior to the general public!
Q. When will I know if my forthcoming holiday is cancelled:
A. There is no set timeline for this. We are in the hands of our accommodation suppliers who will make decisions on any imminent cancellations. Be assured however that if your holiday is cancelled, we will advise you within 24 hours of us being notified.
Q. I would like to cancel my holiday now:
A. Your holiday is bound by the relevant terms and conditions for that accommodation supplier and your booking. We advise you familiarise yourself with these. Disinclination to travel or worry about resort closure or restrictions is not a reason to cancel. Your deposit will be lost along with any additional cancellation fees according to your Terms & Conditions. In some cases this will be up to 100% of your holiday cost. If you wish to cancel your holiday, this must be done via email to firstname.lastname@example.org between the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday (excluding bank holidays).
Q. Should I cancel or hold my nerve:
A. 100% you should sit tight and hold your nerve. You will be placed in a much stronger position if a cancellation is enforced by either your accommodation supplier, the UK Government or the Government of the country to which you are travelling.
Q. My balance payment is due, what do I do:
A. Your balance payment will need to be paid as per the date shown on your confirmation invoice. Failure to do this will result in your holiday being cancelled and you will not receive a refund for the monies already paid. There may also be additional cancellation fees depending on the Terms and Conditions which apply to your booking.
We appreciate this is a hugely difficult time and our thoughts are with everyone. The industry is dealing with an extremely testing situation thanks to Covid-19 and the more recent outbreak of the Omicron variant. We are confident however that things are now improving and with isolation reducing to just one week for those who test positive, it is looking increasingly likely that the pre-arrival in UK test will be removed imminently. Daily figures seem to be stabilising in all countries, so we are hopeful that the season will resume sooner rather than later. We can then all enjoy our skiing holidays as planned.
Thank you for your patience & understanding,
The Team at Powder White.
