Morzine was a well established Haute Savoie town before the invention of skiing, so it is unusual for a ski resort as it has traditional buildings and a feel of a market town. This does not mean that it eschews the glitz and glamour of skiing, however: think fur-lined traditional fayre, with a sprinkling of diamonds. It is, however, more real than some of the ‘glamazon’ French resorts. The resort is well serviced with three main lifts (Pleney, Super-Morzine, and Prodains) taking you in two different directions. Recent investment in the lift infrastructure has meant that any morning queues have dissipated and you are quickly whisked up the mountain to a huge of skiing for all levels.

The scale of the Portes de Soleil should not be underestimated, and by its sheer size, it has suitable skiing for all levels.
The Pleney/Les Get side offers a lot of pretty tree line skiing, which is best for snowy days; the Avoriaz side is higher, bleaker, and above the tree line, offering more challenging skiing for intermediate and advanced skiers.
