Pra Loup overview

Pra Loup is amongst some incredible unspoilt scenery. Easily one of the major factors for skiing here is the sweeping larch forests giving great tree routes, a pretty ski area with craggy peaks poking out the forest. Linked with another ski area; La Foux d'Allos at 1800m with Les Agneliers nestled in between, the skiing is vast as well as beautiful. There's a wide-open bowl over in La Foux d'Allos that's well worth exploring.

Up at 2,600m is the Haute Provence Research Observatory reachable by gondola and with great views over the surroundings. With high altitude and north-facing slopes you get great snow reliability giving Pra Loup a long winter season. State of the art snowmaking also covers the area giving cover for the resort and linking runs in particular.

The ski area has a good mix of slopes for all levels of skier with 10 green, 36 blue, 35 red and 6 black pistes. Winning the French Label Kid award gives the resort great family credibility, the 3 children's gardens only compound this.

Split across two villages, Pra Long 1600 being by far the larger base with direct access to the slopes and the vast majority of the bars, cafés, shops and restaurants.

Pistes in Pra Loup

Great tree skiing through the larch forests on the lower slopes with wide-open bowls above the tree line over in La Foux d'Allos. With 180km of linked skiing, there's huge variation for all abilities and with every piste being above 1,500m there's great snow security too.

There are several natural halfpipes in the area in addition to 5 boardercross and 2 snowparks all served by an efficient lift system.

The ski area is huge compared with the tourist capacity so you'll find quiet runs, few queues and if you ski off-piste you'll find untracked powder for days after fresh snowfall.
