Valfrejus overview

A small village resort in France, Valfrejus is close to the Italian border and neighbours the Three Valleys. Originally built around the mountain hamlet of Carmix, the strict planning constraints meant the resort grew in keeping with its surroundings. An attractive Savoyard design runs through the chalet style, low storey buildings.

Most accommodation is based around the main high-speed gondola (Arrondaz) though you can ski to the other end of the village via return blue/red runs. From here you can hop on a chairlift and take a green run down to the gondola in the mornings. The apres ski is quiet but there are a few bars around the village if you do want a little life. In general, it's a low key resort with a young vibe and good skiing.
