St Foy Tarantaise started life as something of a cult destination for off-piste, however this attractive little resort is now popular with a whole range of skiers, including families. Located on the way up the Tarataise Valley from Bourg St Maurice, it is a great base for visiting resorts such as Tignes, Val d'Isère and Les Arcs, whilst holding its own with a mix of wooded and open blue and red slopes. Pistes are generally quiet with few lift queues and the resort maintains a great freeriding area. In addition the nursery slopes are easily accesssible from the accomodation and beginners will enjoy their natural progression up the blue runs.

St Foy feels like a complete resort in miniature; it has a select choice of bars, some excellent restaurants both on and off the mountain, a small supermarket and a cluster of chalets and chalet-style apartment blocks, all tastefully built in the traditional Savoyard style of wood and stone. What's more, the Tarantaise mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to the village's pleasant setting between the trees.
